Boron's Impact Economically
Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate (Borax)
Na2B4O7·10H2O
Borax is one of the most abundant compounds of Boron. It is
mined at a profit (ored), to countries all around the world- therefore implementing the trading of goods.
When borax is sold, it is then used as an ingredient in various products. It is used in the production of insulating fiberglass- meant to retain heat inside housing and other buildings. It is also used in many cleaning products, insecticides, and solutions, i.e. ones that prevent weeds from growing. Borax is especially found in sodium perborate bleach and insulating fiber glass.
The production of this commodity greatly affects the production of Borax.

Borax Mining
From the 1880s to early 1900s mining was limited and sporadic in the Death Valley region of California. This far from true as of today; being that the largest Borax mine in the world is located in this region.
Many early mining districts met with a notable lack of success. Undeveloped and inefficient technology, scarcity of fuel and water, and the difficulties of transportation made it economically impossible to mine any but the highest grade ores- in this case Borax.

Boric Acid
Boric acid is used as a neutron killer in nuclear power plants
-Boric Acid is found in glass, wood preservers, eye wash, dyes, insecticides and is used in organic synthesis
Neutron absorption performed by the element Boron can also be found in Cancer cells; not exclusively nuclear reactions.
